2006 ITE/SBTOA Transportation Awards Program

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the South Bay Transportation Officials Association (SBTOA) have launched their First Annual Transportation Awards Program. Nominations are now being accepted for the following categories:

Transportation Professional of the Year

Transportation Project of the Year
Please follow this link to make a nomination for either or both of these awards. The deadline to submit nominations is October 20, 2006. Please make only one nomination in each category. You do not need to be an ITE member to make a nomination, but the winner of the Transportation Professional of the Year Award must be a member of ITE upon acceptance of the award.

More Information on the ITE/SBTOA Transportation Awards Program

Time Period: The 2006 awards will recognize work carried out or completed during the time period from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2006.

Geographic Area: The awards will recognize achievement within the geographic area covered by the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Sonora, and Sonoma.

Award Eligibility Criteria: The award aims to recognize projects (or phases within very large projects) with a completion date within the time period stated above and taking place within the geographic area stated above. Depending on the quantity and quality of nominations received, multiple winners may be selected to represent different geographic areas or sizes of projects. Any winner of the Transportation Professional of the Year Award must be a member of the ITE San Francisco Bay Area Section and active in the capacity for which he/she is being nominated, during the time period for the 2006 awards. If a selected nominee is not an ITE member, he/she will need to become a member in order to be eligible for the award. The requirement for ITE membership does not apply to the Transportation Project of the Year award.

Award Recognition: Selected winners will be recognized with a commemorative plaque at the joint meeting of the ITE/SBTOA in November 2006 and will be featured on the the ITE/SBTOA web site

Nomination Deadline: Nominations must be submitted using this online form by midnight Pacific time on October 20, 2006. You do not need to be a member of ITE or the SBTOA to make a nomination.
