2006 ITE/SBTOA Awards Program
|
The winners of the first annual ITE/SBTOA Awards program were announced at the ITE/SBTOA Joint Meeting in November 2006. The main objective behind the Awards Program is to recognize exceptional projects and individuals in the field of transportation in the past year. The Awards Program directors used an online survey for accepting nominations for the categories of Transportation Project of the Year and Transportation Professional of the Year. A selection committee composed of 10 transportation professionals representing the public and private sector evaluated the nominated projects on the basis of innovation, challenges faced, cost-effectiveness, and public acceptance.
