The Intelligent Transportation Systems field is rapidly evolving, and California PATH at UC Berkeley is at the forefront of research. At this meeting, the leader of PATH’s transportation safety research program will present “Vehicle-Infrastructure Integration (VII) and Cooperative (and Safe) Intersections: Building a Road to the Future in Northern California.” The talk will focus on the allure, impetus behind, and development of the "VII California" testbed, links to national (US DOT, AASHTO, and various local agency) efforts, and closely-related research -- all of which gives a basis and a roadmap to VII.
