The April ITE meeting will feature the REAL FUTURE of transportation planning and engineering ... the students!

At the next ITE Meeting, you'll get to meet the winners of the 2007 ITE Student Paper Contest, focused on the topic "Mobility Enhancements for Bay Area Communities”. Contest winners will participate in a student panel on their recommendations for specific communities on transportation and land use improvements consistent with MTC Transit-Oriented Development and Smart Growth policies.

You won't want to miss our discussion of innovative transit-oriented development (TOD) concepts in the Bay Area with the authors of these winning student papers: A Smart Growth Vision for Downtown Fremont: Enhancing Mobility One Step at a Time Combining the Haciendas and Beyond: Transit Oriented Development in the Tri-Valley Eastern Span of Dublin and Pleasanton, CA TOD Recommendations for the MacArthur BART Station

STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS ... Show your school spirit and wear a T-shirt, class ring, fight song, or baseball cap from your alma mater. PRIZES (that's right, PRIZES!) will be given for categories such as strangest college memorabilia, volunteering to sing your school fight song, college T-shirts from far-away places, and more. Ol' Sarge says: Be sure to dust off that college ring and come to the ITE meeting this Thursday!
