Trip Generation for Mixed-Use Developments and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD)
The first presentation will present the Multi-modal Level of Service (MMLOS) method, which was developed to help engineers and planners design an urban street to provide quality level of service for motorists, transit riders, bicyclists, and pedestrians sharing the urban street.
The second and third presentations will discuss means by which vehicle trip generation rates can be affected by land use density and diversity. Recent research examines how these rates are also affected by transit proximity and regional accessibility. These presentations will summarize current research related to trip generation rates at mixed-use developments as well as influences from other land use characteristics.
