This presentation will focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and transportation issues from a national perspective. The discussion will describe how transportation agencies need to look at adaptation, mitigation and NEPA issues.

The second presentation will discuss how the Bay Area’s regional agencies are approaching the preparation of a Sustainable Communities Strategy pursuant to SB 375. A Sustainable Communities Strategy is an integrated land-use and transportation plan aimed at accommodating economic and population growth while reducing GHG emissions from automobiles and light trucks.
