SF Bay Area Section’s Annual Recognition Awards Program
The SF Bay Area Section’s Annual Recognition Awards Program, under Amit Kothari leadership, recognizes an outstanding professional and an outstanding project from the nominations received from the section members. At its January 24, 2013 meeting at Restaurant Peony in Oakland, the Section President Mousa Abbasi presented the 2012 Transportation Project of the Year award to Santa Clara County Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) and Caltrans. Murali Ramanujam (VTA) and Nick Saleh (Caltrans) accepted the plaque and presented the details of the winning project – SR 237 Express Lanes. Due to lack of adequate nominations, the 2012 Transportation Professional of the Year award was canceled. The meeting was well-attended by over 40 transportation professionals from various bay area public agencies, consultants and vendors.
