Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ): 2007 ITE Student Paper Contest

Question (March 12):  I would like to know if we could choose one of the TOD areas marked as "Coming Soon" in the MTC report as our research topic. There are some potential improvements that I would like to highlight in one of those areas (referring to Dublin/Pleasanton BART). Can I choose that as the topic of my paper?

Answer: In response to your question regarding the ITE 2007 Student paper, the purpose of the paper is to have you find an area in the Bay area (separate from those highlighted in the MTC book) that would benefit from transportation and/or land use improvements which are consistent with TOD and Smart Growth Policies.  However, you may include some discussion in addition to your own project about the improvements at the Dublin/Pleasanton BART that you agree/disagree.

Please CLICK HERE to view the 2007 ITE Student Paper Contest Flyer. Remember that the deadline to submit papers is APRIL 1, 2007. For further questions, please contact Patty Camacho at mpc@dksassociates.com
